I was struggling with what to wear and have never felt comfortable posing for formal pictures. Sarah put me at ease by letting me know she would help me put together outfits based on what I had brought with me. That alleviated a lot of stress! I also really valued how she worked with me through the shoot to make sure I was comfortable and to get my input on ideas and poses. It felt very collaborative vs. me just being told where to move and how to position myself. I loved having the onsite hair and makeup. Sarah really listened to me as far as my choice to be natural. She never pushed me to do more. I’ve done other photoshoots in the past where they really pressured me to wear more makeup and I was uncomfortable. And to be honest, the photos didn’t even look like me. Knowing someone would help me with hair and makeup also alleviated a lot of stress because I wasn’t worried about a bad hair day. I knew I would be in good hands, looking my best, and looking like ME.

I was beyond thrilled. The photos look exactly like me and how I see myself. Everyone who has seen them has had the same response: they all say the photos captured me, my personality, and several people said how I looked so comfortable in my own skin. And that is exactly what I was going for. I wanted the energy and vibe of my personality to come through. I wanted the photos to authentically capture who I am day to day vs some glamor shot/all dolled up version of me. Probably like a lot of women, I get nervous about photos and can be critical of myself. I couldn’t be happier with how Sarah was able to capture the essence of my personality and allowed me to shine without a ton of makeup and pageantry. Everyone is obsessed. I rarely post on social media but I put a few of my pics up and was blown away with how many people responded and commented. So many people have asked me for your contact information! People loved my outfits, the backgrounds, my make up but my favorite compliment was the people who said I looked so comfortable in my skin. That is how I feel day to day, so I’m relieved that came across in the photos!
